I make science.

I used to work as a marine biologist with the Australian Federal Government, doing coral ecology, scleractinian taxonomy, multivariate stats, & biodiversity surveys (looking at changes in coral communities due to bleaching & cyclones).

We'd go out to sea (300kms offshore from mainland Australia) for 3-4 weeks at a time. We'd dive all day, collect data, and then come back to the main ship which had a full laboratory, a chef (!) and all our computers and equipment.

When diving we had to use full face masks & surface supply breathing apparatus (not scuba) and we also had to have a re-compression chamber on board. To add to the fun, there were sea snakes everywhere. See the pics!
